The academic year in St. Mary’s School commences in June each year. Admissions start at the age of 3 to Pre-Nursery. The curriculum during these years is grounded in active learning. Through practical activities, purposeful play and talk, students develop an understanding of the world and the basic concepts they will need for later learning. Parents can play a major role in fostering good attitudes to learning, developing language skills and promoting good behavior.
The curriculum for Std. I to VIII aims at developing children’s personal, social and emotional well-being; promotes positive attitudes and disposition towards their learning; provides opportunities to develop social skills as well as developing language and communication, Reading and Writing, Math, Science, knowledge and understanding of the world; and physical and creative development.The school maintains high standards in all aspects of education. Although academics will be given top priority in the curriculum, the development of the child will not be neglected. Healthy competition is encouraged in a variety of activities held on an on-going basis throughout the year. The academic curriculum is supported by debates, speech and drama, sports, music and many more skills.
